Sturgis might not be the oldest motorcycle rally in the U.S., but it’s undoubtedly the most well-known rally and one of the largest gatherings in the world. Dating back to 1938, Sturgis typically takes place during the first full week of August.

Sturgis is now a 10-day festival, with Main Street in Sturgis (a town of 7,000) at the heart of the festivities. Known as “The Chip,” Legendary Sturgis Buffalo Chip campground and entertainment hub is the largest music festival in motorcycling, attracting big name headliners ever year.

The surrounding Black Hills of South Dakota provide a striking backdrop for scenic rides, with notable routes like the Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road, and the journey to Mount Rushmore.
